“I feel extremely compelled to express my gratitude for the expertise, guidance and hard hitting truth I was confronted with after my 1st check up with Dr Usama Riaz. I attended the appointment with the confidence of it being a straight forward check up with no major issues as per usual. I must confess to being a little complacent and lazy with the guidelines I had been given in the past to maintain my dental health. On examination, he found a considerable issue with my gums and my enamel wearing thin in areas possibly due to grinding. I was given some guidance on what to do from here on otherwise the consequences could be fairly severe. I followed his guidance to the absolute letter. Dr Usama Riaz introduced me to doing a clean at my gumline twice a day with an interspace brush. In two weeks my gums had stopped bleeding. Now I can eat without the discomfort I sometimes felt in various parts of my mouth. I thought this was related to stressing my gums from flossing and using interdental brushes. It was the complete opposite and due to the lack of an effective dental routine I was in the preliminary stages of gum disease. I now also wear a gum shield every night that was specifically made to the mould of my teeth imprint to minimise the effects of grinding at night. He was very meticulous in making sure the final fit with the shield was of great comfort and correct positioning. I think Dr Usama Riaz has given the life expentency of my teeth a much needed lifeline that will extend their lives by years as long as I keep to his recommendations.
